Though born in 1998, I started making music in 2017 following inspiration from progressive House DJs Avicii and Martin Garrix due to love for that genre and style of music which always made him happy. His style of music which he calls Afro EDM is largely influenced by Major Lazer and DJ Snake to which he has a similar sound that is characterized by a blend of electronic sounds and native culture diverse instruments and accompanied by rhythmic percussion. His main goal for making music is to make people happy, feel good, and make them dance as they enjoy the music and have songs on repeat.
It’s nice music bro, keep on working!

His Afro EDM is characterized under the genres of Electronic, Dance & Moombahton. The music appeals to African, Latin and Arabic cultures as this speaks to the diversity of his sound as he is also inspired by unique sounds from those cultures and communities.
He released his first track Dance With Me in 2020, an electronic song and has gone on subsequently releasing tracks. He released a dance song titled Mumbah at the end of 2022. Most recently he released a moombahton track on the 14th of July 2023, which is a combination of reggaeton and dance music.
DJ Arta’s style and twist of music is similar to the sounds of artists like DJ Yo!, Qeeo & DJ KosGabby.

DJ Arta – May
DJ Arta Releases a Moombahton Song ‘Ramah’
DJ Arta’s first vocal song titled ‘run away’ dropped on the first of May 2023. Initially, the instrumental track titled ‘Mumbah’ was released on the 25th of November back in 2022 right before the festive season of the year. Therefore, ‘run away’ came out just a little over five months after the instrumental track was uploaded by the Producer/DJ. It is important to note that the song encompasses various genres as it is a genre bending piece of art. The main genres it falls into are reggaeton and pop. Rap and Dance are also other genres closely linked and associated with the song.
Run away is a body of work created by two passionate and creative individuals who came together to work on a project and complement each other’s musical inputs. We both wrote and composed our musical parts i.e. the beat/instrumental and the lyrics/vocals by DJ Arta and Ian Sparo respectively, in times when we were really feeling sad and emotionally low. I started out by creating the instrumental which he released and shared around with friends, groups and family in the hopes of attracting and captivating a skillful vocalist to sing and write something to it.
In a few weeks’ time after the release of the instrumental, this budding talented singer/songwriter wrote to it and composed a demo which he sent out to me. We shared a WhatsApp music group consisting of upcoming new wave artists in Uganda. I listened to the demo track and liked the creativity and composition to it as I was more a stir in a sense that I never thought rap vocals would sit on my type of dance music beats. But well, they did and I was okay with the demo track. We went on to record the vocals in a studio during the first weekend of April, I think it was a Saturday and to be specific it was fool’s day (the first of April)
I proceeded to mix the vocals with the instrumental as I kept sharing back and forth with my collaborator until we had a final project we were both happy and pleased with. We made adjustments and tuned so many aspects of the track to get it to the sound we all love. One thing this whole experience taught me is that we can work together, listen to each other, and advise each other thereby creating a great product everyone loves. In turn, this pleases all associated parties and driving a great sense of team satisfaction which is critical for the next procedures like marketing and promotion.
That is how RUN AWAY was birthed and uploaded on to the internet. We intend to promote this track using dance challenges that can be uploaded and shared on short video platforms especially tiktok so that we can take advantage of the trend in music promotion. Currently, we have developed a plan and strategy to follow and guide us as we navigate the complexities involved in promotion in order to reach a great audience. “So help us God.” – DJ Arta
Given the components involved in this song, run away could as well be accurately classified as a Dance-pop song.
